The
definition of machine when applied to a person is, “one
that resembles a machine (as in being
methodical, tireless, or consistently productive)”. (Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, 2008)
What does a machine
do? When it is turned on, it performs a task, methodically, and
consistently. It
stays focused and on task. This is exactly the type of lead generating
machine
you need to learn to be when you start your online business. It is the
key to
keeping your business in growth mode over the long haul rather than
struggling.
It is what the industry leaders do and what you need to learn in order
to
succeed. If you don’t have leads, you won’t be able to
build your downline; ultimately
your business and your bank account will cease to exist. Remember,
leads are
the life line to your online business.
If
you are struggling in your mlm business, take a good
hard look at where you are with your business. Are you generating
hundreds of
leads on a daily basis? Are you taking the actions necessary that will
lead to
your success? Set specific work hours and create clear and concise
actions that
you will perform each and every day. Be clear on this; your success is
a direct
reflection of your actions which are aligned with your thoughts. The
only way
you will know what actions to take, is to know what you want. One way
to discover
your passion is by writing down all of the things you want, big and
small. The
more detailed your dream, the more direction you will have in achieving
your dreams.
A very small % of the population actually writes down their dreams. By
doing so
you will be providing yourself with systematic goals and action steps
to get your
home business where you want it to be. Figure out how many leads you
will need
to generate to get one order. Based on your dream and the goals you
have set,
you will be able to break that number down to a daily goal for lead
generation.
Focusing your efforts on that daily quota rather than the big picture
will make
your activities more manageable.
Since
lead generating is the lifeline of any home business,
it should be top priority. When you think about it, the only real
limitation is
your imagination. Several methods used by today’s industry
leaders include, social
networking, paid advertising, free classifieds, and article marketing.
The
first method I chose was PPC, then Banner Ads and Article Marketing. I
have
been told that PPC is a more advanced method and I will warn you that
it can be
very expensive if not managed correctly. However, the pay off can be
great. The
important factor when you are just starting out is to select one or two
strategies
to focus on and master.
One
of the benefits of becoming an expert in one or two
methods of marketing is that you will gain invaluable knowledge that
you can
share with your downline. As you share knowledge and experience with
your
downline, you are an expert resource they can rely on to jump-start
their
business. You become more a more attractive leader as you broaden
marketing
expertise over time. If you try to do too much at once, you may get
overwhelmed
and will most likely not master any method of generating leads.
Stay
focused on your daily tasks. Be methodical, tireless
and consistent in your daily lead generating tasks. Once you become a
lead
generating machine, you will be well on your way to achieving your
goals and living
out your dreams.
